This workshop covers the basics of using UConn Library's discovery search as well as searching subject-specific databases on various platforms. Learn the best ways to limit your searches to identify resources that are most relevant to your subject. Content covered is multidisciplinary and includes:

  • When to use discovery search
  • When to use a subject-specific database
  • Boolean searching (AND, OR, NOT)
  • Wildcards and truncation
  • Database thesauri and controlled vocabulary
  • Other limiters
  • Saving and exporting references from a database
