Seat Availability

The UConn Archives & Special Collections is open to the public. We have adjusted our service model to respond changing COVID-19 conditions and to best serve our community.  

The ASC reading room is located in the Dodd Center for Human Rights on the Storrs campus of the University of Connecticut. Parking information and directions to our facilities are available here:

What you need to know: 

  • Tables can be booked in three-hour increments (9:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00) with a limit of two reservations per day.  

  • Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Same-day appointments cannot be accommodated at this time and will not be approved. You may make reservations up to 30 days in advance. If you are making travel plans and would like to make a reservation more than 30 days out, please contact us at

  • You may schedule appointment slots over multiple days, if capacity allows.  

  • If you are travelling with colleagues to conduct research, please note that all members of your party must book individual appointments. Group size is limited to ten, due to Covid-19 capacity limits.

  • Once reading room capacity is reached, no additional appointments or walk-in visits may be made. 

  • The reading room will be closed from 12-1pm each day. You will be asked to exit at that time and return at 1:00 if you’ve booked an afternoon slot. 

  • Masks are required at all times in the building, regardless of vaccination status. 

  • You must check in with a photo ID at the reading room reference desk upon arrival.
